Each opal I work on contains a hidden story and is its own unique piece of art - made by the earth.

Mines

My grandparents, AJ & Claudia Couture, are the owners of the Spencer Opal Mines in Spencer, ID. It is the largest opal mine in the United States. I have been lucky to have worked on the mine one time and then my grandparents send me ore to work on with my equipment. I love working on opal and can spend hours working on new pieces! Below are some of the pieces of opal from my grandfather. I have also included a few of my pieces that I have completed as well. The photo to the right is of me visiting a show that my grandparents were having with their opal jewelry in 2012 or 2013.

Here are some photographs of me at the opal mine when I was 6-years old and also visiting my grandparents when they were on the road selling their opals across the US!

Visiting and working at Spencer Opal Mines with my grandparents in 2016.
